A Critique Rating System??
Just wondering. Could a rating system, similar to movies, etc., be done for posted pieces. If someone read it but didn't want to comment, they could just pop a rating. Here is my thinking:
1 pencil - should be put in folder and locked a desk drawer (forever).
2 pencils - could take it to the bus station and let the waiting area read it.
3 pencils - might let your family or close friends read it.
4 pencils - let someone who actually reads books look at it.
5 pencils - stand back so you don't get crushed by the stampede of publishers.
I guess you do half grades too -- 1 and 1/2 pencils.

Re: A Critique Rating System??
you have to be really bad to need an eraser rating. I've managed it.

So cool! Now I will know how it really turned out! Letting the pencil erasing begin!

Re: A Critique Rating System??
I like this idea, JaM. But I would like to throw in that in order for this site to work, we all need to take the time at least a few times a week to read others' work and critique. I know I've been guilty of not doing it, but if we stop critiquing then there's no reason for the site to operate.
If this pencil and eraser rating could be done, then everyone should be able to contribute in reading pieces and critiquing or giving a rating.

I'm laughing too Jam. And I admit, I've been stopping in daily and never seeing any new posts going on at a quick glance. I may be doing it wrong, but I go by dates over to the right. Seemed like everyone got kind of busy with summer. It will pick up again, though. As for the rating system, it could work when we are busy, at least be a quick way to let each other know we stopped to read. Give us a few more choices though, LOL.

Re: A Critique Rating System??
In all seriousness, I am not so sure that a rating for someones writing would be overly helpful. Its okay if reviewing books or movies (I am all for it there) but might be problematic for crits on our writing.
