NEW BUTTONS AND DOO-DADS

okay.... we have some changes to tell you about.

WE NOW HAVE REPPIES!!!! WHOOT!!!!!!

they work a bit differently though (sorry... its the best we can do, and i am still sort of learning about them)

inside the post box... in the top right corner there is a doohickey that looks like this

If you click on the + you will give that person a positive rep point and a green vertical bar will show up there. If you click on the - you will give them a negative rep point and a red vertical bar will show up there. You can only click on one or the other, and you will not have either to click on for your own posts.

On every thread that you start, there will be, for every subsequent post in that thread not made by you, a THANKS button. If you click that button, you are giving the person who posted a bonus rep. You can only do this once per thread, so once you click it, the button then fades and you can no longer use it.

you will also find that the profile pages have changed. If you click on someone's profile, then click on their 'visitor message' tab, it will list a page full of 'rep point comments' that you can make. to post one of these on someone's profile, once on the visitor message page, on the top right corner there is a button for 'ADD REPLY'. Click on that and you get a post box where you can type your message or reply to a message there. I have the default set at 10 messages per page. if you want more, let me know.

There is also a multi-quote option. Probably self explanatory?

Lemme know what you think of the changes, or if you think more are needed.

I know it is a huge advancement, therefore I will be confused until I read it ten times and then promise myself not to touch any buttons I don't know.

OKAY!!! MAJOR UPDATE.... cause we just figgered this out!

if you want to read the reppie comments others have left for you, click on your on the main page (just like you would to look at anyone else's profile) and then click on visitor messages to see your rep comments that have been left by others

*scratches head very confused* Thanks, Amanda. I'm trying to figure these things out. I just saw a visitor message from you, so I apologize for not responding. It wasn't showing under my regular messages.

Also, it shows I have points. *hmmm.... * Do I get to cash these in for a nice new shiny bike, or another Smoothie machine?

Also, can't find where my reps are other than how many I gots? Oh, I'll figure this out if it drives me crazy. :)

The visitor messages are like rep comments... so they will only show up when you go looking for them. When I joined at AW, I had no idea what the heck rep points or the comments were... I finally found them after about three months!

The reps show up only as points, and on the post where you got the rep it will show up to you as a green bar, although you won't know who gave it to you. The comments have to be done separately through the visitor comments in your profile (which took P and me MANY hours to figure out because we couldn't find them once we had made em)

perhaps we should start a rep point store? we can put items for sale there and everyone else can buy these treasures with their rep points? I trimmed my nails last night... that should be worth a couple of reppies to someone, right?

It's very kind of you to want to auction off your nail trimmings, but I think I'm much rather auction off my baby teeth necklace I made in the 4th grade. :) Just kidding, I didn't make that.
