PAULA'S WORD-A-THON FOR CANCER
IT'S MUSE-KICKING TIME!
And... we can do good at the same time.
There is NOT enough writing bein done around here!!! Time to change that.
There have been too many of us touched by cancer. Time to change that as well.
Here is my plan. Starting SUNDAY MAY 24th (yes, that's this Sunday) until SUNDAY, MAY 31st you will keep track of what you write, and you will post in this thread how many pages/words you managed for the day. For each page that you write, $1 will be donated to the American Lung Cancer Society in Paula's father's name.
You can also get your own extra sponsors for this event -- parents, kids, friends... whoever. I will do up a sponsorship page that I can email to you if you would like one (pm me with an email addy to send it to). The sponsors can either donate an amount per page or a flat amount for the week -- their choice. At the end of the week, we will total up what each one of us has raised, and there will be an added prize for the person who raises the most money.
if you provide word counts -- 250 words=1 page
if you do poetry, each poem counts as an individual page at least.
now... start writing, and use this thread to post your progress. Lets get our muses in gear, and lets help a great cause.

Re: PAULA'S WORD-A-THON FOR CANCER
it also helps if you have a name for your muse.
Paula named mine Lucinda. Now when I am in shit, I can say it is Lucinda's fault. Works like a damn!
LOL -- yes JaM, you can save your stuff till Sunday... but start writing today!
Thanks Kerr. I hope this plan works... its a win/win for all of us.

Okey-dokey, and here I was, sweating it out this morning like a high schooler trying to get a term paper finished on the last day.

Luke is good -- it's close to luck. But so it won't sound like Luke Duke, we'll make it Luc. Jean Luc the Duke.. That's it.

LOL!
we should think of the perfect name for Dave's muse... maybe if we name it, we can figure out how it works so damned well!

Re: PAULA'S WORD-A-THON FOR CANCER
Okay, I sat down for a good half hour and got one whole hair-pullin' page done. I do expect at least several more before bedtime. I gonna be blowing kisses to everyone if this new trick works to keep me on track. Also, I intend to keep posting in the last paragraph, just to keep myself pushing. Plus, I'm going to leave myself one extra line every night to work into the next day.

I do believe he is more of a Hickory, dickory and dock kinda guy. Or Luther, the Sleuther?

Prince Diablo? Or is that too close to the nickname Luc the Duke? (Is it just me, or does that last one sound really bad?)

Re: PAULA'S WORD-A-THON FOR CANCER
Two more pages today. Four total so far. Not a great deal, but the neighbors showed up at the door and stayed for several hours and my daughter and GD later on. In between the two came a bit easier, though. But that's probably it till tomorrow night. We have to different picnic thingys.
