What I Learned Today......

I learned I could convert two and one half pages of writing into one page, by rewrite. It almost seems as if this process is going backwards.

LOL!! Not really, JaM. I think the majority of people end up doing that when they write. Funny thing, I always end up adding instead of cutting. You will flesh it out, find missed opportunities to expand on, and it will be as it should in the end.

...that it feels freaking awesome to sit on a porch you just finished making yourself, sipping on a drink, watching the grubs swim, and writing on the lappy!

If the TV remote quits working, throw it out and go buy a universal remote. It will do no good to take the old one apart, it will be just as no good when you put it back together.

And the other thing I learnt, over three days actually. The tempered glass from Pyrex measuring cups is like schrapnel, the tiny bits will do damage. I managed to break a 1 cup and a 2 cup size, plus two dinner glasses, hence the bandaid covered fingers.
And learned when honing a knife, keep it away from other fingertips while checking for sharpness, two more bandaids in one spot on the same finger, just to stop the bleeding.

hmmmm... i learned that, thanks to JaM, I might be able to retire early.

i learned today that the bigger the snake is, the more it freaks me out.
i am NOT going outside again until that slimmy slithery ick-thing is gone!

that when writers sneak their own work in under false pretenses hoping for complete honesty, they're lie-ing.

I've learned that even though I lived where I do and grew up nearby, I don't have much in common with the people.

Well I've learned that since moving further away from the majority, the people left that live within a quarter mile are mostly aliens.

okay, it is one of those things I knew was wrong to do to start with, but...you tell yourself you will figure out an answer later. I should have put first drafts in WordPerfect and cut and paste them as post--not type them as post first, have to print out copies so I can get them (retyped) where they should have been to begin, in a file.

i learned that in EVERYTHING the only thing that matters now is Who you know... not what you can do, not what you know, but only WHO you know.
