Bipolar Poetry
I had this idea, and I'm not sure if it will work or how exactly it will work, but I think it could be fun. And that is to do a poetry game where one person posts a poem about a particular subject and the next person who posts has to write on the subject as well, only they have to do one that is polar opposite from the previous poem...
Like if one person would do a happy poem about love, the next poster would also be about love in a different way...
Watcha ya'll think?

Re: Bipolar Poetry
Oh great. Just when I'm trying to get the whole poetry thing down, she changes the frickin' rules on me!!!

Re: Bipolar Poetry
It would be fun, BUT poetry comes out of the blue for me and subjects are never known until they arrive. In other words, I can't force any of it, and my soul-less pills make me so fucking cheerful I can no longer write the good stuff.

No stress intended Tony, just trying to have some fun and challenge ourselves in the same time.

That's sort of what I was going for JaM... just a different way to challenge one's self... it would be no different from a prompt or a Dare... it would be free form and just something to see how we could build more of a writing repertoire. A game to push ourselves to see how far we can take it. Who knows, you may get inspired as well, learn that you CAN do it, and have a new facet to your fabulousness.
I think we all can do this, capabilities aside, we are all talented enough. Otherwise I wouldn't have posted it
here. No judging, no stipulations just one poem opposite the other. I think it would be a great learning experience.

Re: Bipolar Poetry
I have two poems to choose from. Anyone please feel free to pick and write a poem opposite to either one. I didn't name them or anything I'd just love to see what everyone can come up with. I think it'll be neat feeding off one another's creativity.
any comments are welcome, but please, write a poem... it'll be fun, I swear
Happy writing
Poem #1
The water is placid
Resiting in peace
A moment of breathe
Revel in sweet release
One can rattle cages
Building up over the shed
The earth starts quaking
My water has rustled its bed
Happiness halts in my heart
Hunker down for a bumpy ride
And when I come out of my hole here
The next time I won't have to hide
Poem #2
Life lesson of bitter proportion
Bask in your funny glow
Disrupted pity and progress
Never knowing which way to go.
How can I keep moving forward
When my heart is shackled with chains
Crying, crawling and bawling
Flushing my hope down the drain
Running and skirting in corners
No lesson learned on your part
Only care you can bare for the moment
Is a squeeze of your next little tart
Each step I take I move slowly
For pain grabs a hold of me still
I'm grasping and clasping and waiting
With reluctance my fortress of will
Breaking the bond grows with ease
As I wait for a taste of myself
Only to look back in sadness
When I realize I'm placed on your shelf.

Re: Bipolar Poetry
Interesting idea. I've been trying to get back into writing mode and this may give it a nudge.
#2
"Payback"
Misplaced mid shoes and hats
Jackets all strewn about
Shirt with buttons torn off
No longer has the clout
Dark, cramped quarters
Old, worn out style
Thought for a rainy day
Bottom of a pile
Caught between the floorboards
Taking too much space
Trash for the refuse bin
Another in your place
