My fav so far is not on the site -- it is "Purity" -- and not for obvious reasons. But I have so many left, and there are so many I like so far.

Re: Link-- Billy Collins Poems.
Hey JaM! I was talking to my GM today and told him about Billy Collins. He told me that he KNOWS Billy Collins from when he used to GM the one store in Conn. He has all kinds of stuff signed and everything from Mr. Collins!
Thought it was a cool story!

That is a nice story. I thought that he used to do a number of reading and I'm sure book signings in stores, so he has a worthwhile collection since he was Poet Laureate in 01-02. Now, it makes you HIP with the GM just knowing about him, right?

Re: Link-- Billy Collins Poems.
I don't know if I'm *hip* or not, Billy knows all kinds of authors. He's got great stories from working in Connecticut and Manhattan, I shouldn't be surprised when he says.. "Yeah, I know 'im." But he's cool whether I we talk authors or not.
I read this article on Nicolas Sparks once, and the person doing the interview sort of made him look like a butt. I started talking to Billy about it and he was like "NO WAY! Nicolas Sparks is SUPER nice... I used to have him come into my store *all* of the time..."
I have no view on Nicolas Sparks one way or another, his stories are not for me, but Billy will tell us if someone was a prick or not. I'm going to believe him over the interviewer, because things can get distorted in print.
It's just funny because I'll start talking to him and mention someone, and he'll be like "Oh yeah, Neil Gaiman... I met him... saw him on a plane..." something crazy like that. He's just one of those people who has interesting stories.

Yes. I could live without the tabloids and the exploitations of all the "starlets" out there.
